Today Hotta Studio unveiled the upcoming event that will bring the world of the classic anime Neon Genesis Evangelion to Tower of Fantasy.
The event will start on March 12 and it’ll bring a variety of content from Gainax’s anime to the game.
Shinji Ikari, Asuka Shikinami Langley, and Rei Ayanami will appear in the game as the Angels strike, prompting players to join forces with the iconic heroes.
Specifically, both Asuka Shikinami Langley and Rei Ayanami will become available as playable simulacrums during the event.
You’ll also be able to witness massive fights between the Evangelion units, EVA-00, EVA-01, and EVA-02, and the angels in 1:1 scale which is bound to be really spectacular when witnessed from the point of view of a human character.

Tower of Fantasy is a free free-to-play game initially released for PC, iOS, and Android, and then subsequently launched on Steam, PS5, and PS4. While it doesn’t have any price of admission, so you can simply jump in and enjoy the crossover event, there are plenty of microtransactions for those who want to partake.

If you’re unfamiliar with Neon Genesis Evangelion, it originally debuted as an anime TV series by Gainax in 1994, directed by Hideaki Anno. Several movies have followed the TV series, partly retelling and rewriting the story. It remains one of the most beloved anime franchises of all time even today.
