Vampire Crawlers Release Date Brings Deckbuilding Goodness Next Month

Solo dev Luca Galante, better known as the indie studio Poncle, has announced the release date for “turboturn” roguelike deckbuilder Vampire Crawlers, and it’s coming very soon indeed.

As revealed in a typically tongue-in-cheek trailer, Vampire Crawlers will be arriving across PC and consoles on April 21st, and it’ll be playable on Game Pass on day one as well (assuming you’re subscribed to the right tier, of course).

Vampire Crawlers is also due to arrive on mobile devices at some point in the future, but Galante says this release will happen “at a later date” and promises to keep players posted on what’s going on with the mobile versions of the game.

Vampire Crawlers is set for an April release.

If you’re not familiar with Vampire Crawlers, it’s a spinoff of the hugely popular bullet heaven game Vampire Survivors. Our own Don was impressed by the demo, including it in his top Steam Next Fest demos for this past February (and it’s still available now if you want to try it!).

Poncle describes the game as a “casual, turn-based deckbuilder with roguelite elements” in which your goal is to “deal world-ending combos and blitz through infested dungeons”. Arcade Paradise and Vostok Inc. developer Nosebleed Interactive is helping out with this one as well.

Even if you’re not a fan of the usually methodical pace of roguelite deckbuilders, Poncle says you can either choose to “take your time and be tactical” or to throw caution to the wind and “play turns as fast as you humanly can”.

You can check out the new release date trailer for Vampire Crawlers below. It’s well worth a watch and should give you at least a chuckle or two.

Vampire Crawlers comes to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on April 21st. Versions for Android and iOS are also in the works. Stay tuned for more on this and all other things Poncle.
