Want more Switch 2 games? Nintendo just reconfirmed release dates for five big releases, with four more down the pipe

It’s a big day for Nintendo. The publisher just released its most recent financial report, which has revealed a fair number of interesting nuggets about how the company is doing.

As well as a rundown of the remarkable Switch 2 sales numbers, and the revelation that the Switch has now sold as many units as the Nintendo DS (making it Nintendo’s joint-best selling console, ever), the publisher has also reconfirmed the release dates for five of its upcoming first-party titles, whilst reaffirming release date windows for four more titles.

Given that one of the major critisisms of the Nintendo Switch 2 is that ‘it has no games’, you can see why Nintendo is keen to correct the narrative and remind us that there is a good selection of titles in the pipeline.

Per the report, here are all the upcoming Switch 2 titles listed by Nintendo, with their attached release dates or windows:

  • Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment // 6th November 2025
  • Kirby Air Riders // 20th November 2026
  • Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition // 4th December 2025
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition // 15h January 2026
  • Mario Tennis Fever // 12th February 2026
  • Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition // Spring 2026
  • Yoshi and the Mysterious Book // Spring 2026
  • Pokémon Pokopia // 2026
  • Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave // 2026
  • Splatoon Raiders // [No solid release date]

Let’s dig into some of those: first up, we have Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment coming this week, a Musou-style game acting as a sort-of prequel to the events of Tears of the Kingdom. It’s not a ‘full fat’ Zelda game, but I expect it’ll do well enough in the run up to Christmas.

Next, there’s Kirby Air Riders, which has had a lot of attention lately via a fair share of its own dedicated Nintendo Directs. Our own Alex described it as “a blazing assault on the senses where once you lock in, the magic cuts through“.

There’s Metroid Prime 4, too, which was the subject of a lot of speculation before it managed to secure a firm release date. My favourite part of this saga was a big release window leak courtesy of checks notes the London Underground.

Otherwise, we’re seeing releases of games that are Switch 2 versions of well-recieved Switch titles – Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition both fall into this category.

It’s worth mentioning that these are only the first-party titles planned for Switch 2 in the coming months: there are also a lot of third-party games in the wings, too, with the most notable perhaps being Elden Ring for Switch 2, which recently caught a hefty delay to an unspecified date.
