Where to buy the Makeshift Gaol Key in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Players will come across someone selling Makeshift Gaol Keys in Melve. Dudley, the fellow with a backpack on the edge of the ruined village, will sell them for 3,000 Gold apiece.
These Keys, being makeshift, will only be useful one time. So it may be wise to buy a couple, or even a few to be on the safe side. You can buy up to 20 at once, but that’s a little excessive.
Anytime you need more, just Oxcart back to Melve for a very low price, and buy some more.
What is Gaol in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
A lot of you will be wondering whether it’s worth purchasing a Makeshift Gaol Key. If you plan to abide by the law, then you don’t need to. For “Gaol” is just old speak for “Jail.” It is a Makeshift prison key.
This can only be used once, which will get you out of your cell. You’ll still need to escape the Gaol, though.
Very soon in the story you will be lent a proper Gaol Key that can be used for any number of times, so try to plan your wrongdoings for when you have that key.
How to use the Makeshift Gaol Key in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To use the Makeshift Gaol Key in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you simply need to interact with a locked Gaol door, such as your cell. Upon doing so, you’ll enter a menu and can select the Makeshift Gaol Key.
This will consume the key, so you won’t be able to do it again unless you have spares or until you buy another. So try not to get caught by the guards, lest you be thrown in Gaol again.
With or without the Makeshift Gaol Key, you can still bribe your way out of Gaol, but it’s super expensive.
It’ll be worth buying at least one just in case.
