The upcoming Wild Area event sees the return of Mighty Pokémon, which were a highlight of last years event. So why are Might Pokémon such a must-grind?
So what are Mighty Pokémon? Currently they are a special spawn exclusive to Wild Area events that have some unique attributes:
- Mighty Pokémon can be caught in the following level ranges: Level 35 to 40 range if they are not weather boosted, Level 40 to 45 range if they are weather boosted!
- Mighty Pokémon have a high IV floor, with 13/13/13 minimum guaranteed IVs
- Mighty Pokémon always appear as fully evolved Pokémon and can be Shiny in their fully evolved form!
- More likely to be XL or XXL when caught, and are very aggressive during the catch encounter
- Mighty Pokémon are much more difficult to capture, it is recommended to use Golden Razz Berries, and a GO Safari Ball
Different Mighty Pokémon will appear on Saturday and Sunday, and there are additional incense exclusive encounters too!
Saturday Mighty Pokémon Spawns
The following Mighty Pokémon will appear during the Wild Area 2025 event, during any habitat hour on Saturday (November 15, 2025):
Sunday Mighty Pokémon Spawns
The following Mighty Pokémon will appear during the Wild Area 2025 event, during any habitat hour on Sunday (November 16, 2025):
Mighty Pokémon Incense Encounters
For all Trainers, the following mighty Pokémon will be attracted to Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) during both event days:
With an incredible 13/13/13 IV floor, Mighty Pokémon are your best chances for catching a perfect 100IV shiny Pokémon in the wild, aka a shundo!
Even if you aren’t lucky enough to get perfect IVs, many of the Mighty Pokémon you catch will have fantastic IVs for use in the raid meta, or Master League PvP. Because they also have a high level as their base, they don’t require much candy or stardust to power up to level 40 either! Many of the Pokémon featured this year have Mega evolutions, or are useful as raid attackers. Mighty Pokémon are practically built for raids from the get go with their high levels, so you can get a new raid squad Pokémon without any investment!
You may also find that you potentially catch Pokémon that could be candidates for your Silver Bottle Cap! With the chances of a decent IV shiny being so high, you could get something that is SO close to being a shundo, and finally know what you want to use your next Hyper Training journey on.
Be sure to stock up Safari Balls during the event, and utilise them to catch every Mighty Pokémon you see! With such good IVs, you never know what new hundo you might add to your collection.
Whilst looking at the Pokémon featured for the 2024 Wild Area, something caught my attention which is worth noting. Now, this observation may be complete coincidence, but it could also have been planned! The theme last year was Poison and Electric, but the Mighty Pokémon had more varied typing than that. This is the 2024 list:
Of that list, I want to highlight Feraligatr, Scolipede, Dragonite, Eelektross and Dragalge. With the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, all five of these Pokémon have gained access to brand new Mega Evolutions. Could it be a coincidence that they happened to be chosen to feature as Mighty Pokémon, or could it have been because it was known that their meta usage was going to change with Z-A? It means that half of the Mighty Pokémon featured now have Mega Evolutions, when at the time, only three of the sixteen did!
Now, why is this of note? Because a very reputable source for Pokémon leaks has leaked a list of even more new Mega Evolutions that are allegedly featured in the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
If you want to see the full list of the rumoured new Mega Evolutions in the DLC, you can check out our article here. Now this list may come to nothing, but the same source also leaked the list for Legends: Z-A, and it was proved to be 100% accurate with the game release.
Now, I am not going to post any spoilers in this article, you can see them at the link shared in the previous paragraph, but if the leak is true, there are potentially 3 new Mega Evolutions available for Pokémon featured as Mighty Pokémon the Wild Area this year.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A has really changed the game, because it shows that the Pokémon Company can return to an older mechanism in Mega Evolution, and add a host of new Pokémon to it! So many Pokémon that were not all that useful before have now gained an array of uses in the meta thanks to new Mega Evolutions, and there is nothing to say that this won’t happen again in the future. We could easily see more Mega Pokémon, more Gigantamax Pokémon, or something entirely new that could impact the meta in Pokémon GO!
