Wine is Sacred Walkthrough – The Witcher 3

After investigating Dettlaff’s motives in Where Children Toil, Toys Waste Away, it’s time to tell the Duchess what you’ve found so far. Don’t worry, there’s no way to mess this up or spoil your relationship with Regis, but there is a payout of 1,500 Crowns that you might not know about!

Below, you’ll find a full walkthrough of Wine is Sacred in The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine so you can get the best outcome and the most rewards.

Start the Wine is Sacred Quest in The Witcher 3

Head to Beauclair Palace to speak with Duchess Anna Henrietta and Damien de la Tour. You are presented with dialogue options, but they all lead to the same outcome, so don’t feel like you have to pick any in particular.

Either way, Geralt will reveal that the Beast of Beauclair is a vampire who is being blackmailed, and the Duchess agrees that they should try to save the mysterious woman who has been kidnapped by the Beast’s blackmailers.

Soon after, the Duchess, Geralt, and Damien set off on their horses to Castel Ravello Vineyard, and there will be two panthers blocking the path that you need to kill before proceeding.

Wine is Sacred (5)

Once you arrive, you can ask Fabricio two questions, but regardless of the questions you ask, you won’t get a satisfying answer, so the Duchess decides to investigate the wine cellar herself (with you, of course).

Investigate the Wine Cellar

As you arrive at the wine cellar, turn around and examine the wine register. You will now need to search for Sangreal from the 1269 vintage. The specific wine barrel you are looking for is upstairs in the south-east corner, so take the stairs from the middle and cross the bridge directly across to read the notice.

Wine is Sacred (10)

You will now need to tap every single Sangreal 1269 barrel, as all of them are still full. The Duchess then asks you to gather a Tapping Hammer and a Barrel Tap, both of which can be found in the lower west section, on the floor and in the crate.

With these items gathered, interact with any two barrels, and the Duchess will spit out the wine, noting that it’s not Sangreal 1269. You can return to the surface to question Fabricio, and after that, you will have to leave the Castel Ravello Vineyard with Damien.

Defeat the Bandits

After a short cutscene, bandits will ambush you and the Toussaint knights. Make sure you have your steel sword ready, and Quen is a good sign to use, considering there are so many of them.

Wine is Sacred (14)

Once the bandits and their leader, Hornitz, are all dead, Damien will speak with you, and it doesn’t matter what you say to him, as the outcome is the same. The same can be said for the dialogue with the surviving bandit that you interrogate, as he gives up all the information he knows despite what you say.

Before leaving with the Duchess, you can select “Join you there”; this will allow you to loot the bandits you killed, as you will also be able to get 500 Florens from the cart, which you can exchange at the bank for 1,500 Crowns!

Wine is Sacred (15)

When you meet back with the Duchess and Damien, you will discuss your next plan. Again, you can select any dialogue here, as the outcome is the same. The quest will end, and you’ll have your next main mission: The Man from Cintra.
