Wizards of the Coast is giving back with its newly announced Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair drop. Unlike past lairs featuring Garfield, the aptly titled Secret Lair x Global Fund for Women is a special limited drop of cards with proceeds going to the progressive feminist fund.
The Secret Lair x Global Fund for Women Announcement
In an official press release, Wizards of the Coast announced Secret Lair x Global Fund for Women in collaboration with the organization. Fully titled Global Fund for Women: Their Magic is Limitless, The drop will feature alt artwork of Magic cards celebrating women, their power, and the many ways they support, teach, protect, and champion one another, and how those virtues and values span different generations, communities, and worlds.
This aligns with the mission statement and history of the Global Fund for Women. The organization has supported gender justice around the world, funding more than 5,000 grassroots organizations in over 180 countries. They have also provided more than $250 million in grants towards work in climate justice, reproductive rights, freedom from violence, and supporting communities during crises.
“Their Magic is Limitless celebrates the women of Magic, both on the cards and behind the drop,” said Lindsey Bartell, Senior Director of Secret Lair. “From the characters to the artists to the creative team, every part of it is rooted in connection, mentorship, and the many ways women uplift each other. We’re proud to support Global Fund for Women with a drop shaped by the same spirit it celebrates: women creating, leading, mentoring, and championing one another.”

- Lathil, Blade of the Elves
