Yuji Itadori has made great progress in Jujutsu Kaisen, which is expected, given that he is the protagonist of the series. He is certainly not among the strongest characters at the moment, however, with each passing chapter, he’s taking a step closer to achieving just that. While Yuji may be a raw product, the potential that he holds is tremendous. Much of that potential stems from the possibility of him having tremendously powerful cursed techniques.

Yuji does not have access to any official cursed technique at the moment, but the manga has already depicted him showing signs of manifesting one, and potentially harboring more inside of him. By the end of the Shinjuku Showdown, it is highly likely that Yuji will manifest multiple cursed techniques, and that is exactly what fans are waiting for at this point in time.

Yuji And Sukuna’s Connection

Yuji and Sukuna are two characters that are connected in very interesting ways. For one, Yuji became the vessel of Sukuna. However, while this might have been just another event in the story, what is even more interesting for the fans to notice is that he could somewhat control Sukuna and become a perfect vessel. That is precisely why Sukuna ended up switching bodies eventually, and, with that, he caused all sorts of chaos, as fans saw in the story. As soon as Sukuna switched bodies, he engaged in a short scrap with Yuji. When that happened, Yuji actually managed to take some of Sukuna’s strongest blows, but what was interesting was that in the aftermath of the battle, Sukuna himself received a cut on his finger. This was somewhat curious and suggested that this cut might have come from Yuji. When one looks at the past interactions of Yuji with the likes of Gojo and even Shoko, it has been made quite clear that, at some point in the story, Yuji will have access to Sukuna’s cursed technique.

Yuji and Sukuna have shared the same body and although souls do not mix in JJK, they certainly do share boundaries. As such, Yuji gaining access to Sukuna’s cursed technique is not just a possibility, but a certainty at this point. Still, it is quite strange that Yuji has not tapped into this power properly just yet. However, at some point in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, it is highly likely that he will gain this ability. Quite possibly, this might end up happening when Yuji faces Sukuna in a proper one-on-one battle, after all the other sorcerers are down. After all, Yuji is going to be the one to take Sukuna down, and doing it using his very own technique is most certainly going to be an incredible addition to the story.

Yuji’s Blood Manipulation Cursed Technique

While having Sukuna’s cursed technique has explicitly been stated in the story, there is another cursed technique that Yuji has been depicted to have. This is the ability of blood manipulation. Yuji has certainly got access to this power, and he has even demonstrated it on many occasions. For one, Yuji launched the power of Piercing Blood at Sukuna from a distance at one point. Sukuna assumed this to be Choso, however, at that point, Choso was nowhere near the battlefield. As such, the attack most certainly did not come from him. Fans did not get to see who launched the attack, but it was most certainly Yuji. This is reinforced by the fact that Yuji later coughed up blood and spit it on Sukuna’s face, and when he was pushed away, used his powers to make it explode remotely. This is very similar to the applications of blood manipulation that fans have seen in the story on many occasions.

Even now, when Yuji has been hit by a powerful Dismantle by Sukuna, he’s trying his best to heal, and to aid his healing, he’s trying to spread blood to every end of his body properly. Once again, this shows active control over his blood, and once again, implies that Yuji might have access to blood manipulation. This has been almost confirmed in the story, and only needs the word of the author to make it a reality. With blood manipulation and Sukuna’s cursed technique, Yuji will have amazing powers at his disposal.

This also opens the door for usually having a blood domain expansion, which could very well end up being lethal. Fans have not seen a blood domain expansion in the series so far, even though multiple characters have had the ability to utilize the blood manipulation cursed technique. Perhaps, this cursed technique is going to be incredibly power overpowered, and will most likely open up the way for Yuji to take down Sukuna properly. When combined with the power of Dismantle and Cleave, and potentially even the world-splitting slash, Yuji will certainly pose all sorts of problems for the King of Curses later down the line, and that is the moment that fans are eagerly waiting for, as the person who will take Sukuna down in the end and rescue Megumi is going to be none other than Yuji Itadori.

Yuji’s Soul Manipulation Powers

If having two incredible cursed techniques was not enough, Yuji also has a special power that remains unexplained to this date in the story. Yuji has the power to damage souls. This is an ability that he manifested before his other two cursed techniques and one that Sukuna fears quite a lot. Yuji can, essentially, injure the souls of his opponents directly. This not only shaves away their cursed energy, but also reduces their efficiency in battle. Yuji weakened Sukuna greatly in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, and he continues to do so with each successive blow. This is the same ability that Mahito feared quite a lot, as they were the perfect counter to his abilities. Even to Sukuna, Yuji can not be allowed to land too many blows, as doing so would weaken his control over Megumi’s body, and eventually force him into a position where he would be opened for the killing blow.

When taking all these powers into consideration, it is clear for the fans to see that Yuji possesses quite a lot of hidden potential. He only needs to unearth this incredible power from inside, and bring it to the surface. Now that Yuji has also mastered reverse cursed technique, all these abilities put together makes him a top-tier sorcerer and one capable of even fighting against the likes of Sukuna in battle. This is a very exciting phase for the story and fans should be seeing Yuji at the top of his game very soon, as he returns to the battle against the King of Curses.

Using all the powers that he gradually awakens, Yuji will most likely be the one to save Megumi, and with that, JJK will likely edge closer to its end. As has been confirmed already, the manga will most likely conclude this year, which means a time for Yuji to showcase what he is truly capable of is near.
