Is 2026 the year city builders came roaring back? From Cities: Skylines II’s improvements under Iceflake Studios to Transport Fever 3, we’re exploring 13 city builders, colony sims and logistics games through trailers, release dates, major updates and full releases.
This year has brought new city-building games, substantial expansions and long-awaited departures from Early Access. In this video, I look at what changed, what’s coming next, and why these games could be worth your attention.
We start with Cities: Skylines II’s new development team, simulation improvements and DLC roadmap before exploring industrial islands, Roman cities, medieval settlements, lunar colonies and transport networks.
For me, it’s about making things practical rather than pretty: roads that flow, deliveries that arrive, production chains that work and vehicles that keep everything moving. Having spent plenty of time in Cities: Skylines and absolutely loved Transport Fever 2, there’s a lot here that catches my interest!
💬 Have you returned to Cities: Skylines II since Iceflake took over? What have been your favourite improvements? And which game on this list are you most excited about?

Corsair Cove is similar in its genre to these games and it is fantastic!
this has to work for Cities skylines as they seem to have put a lot of resources into it
Of all the games you shown onlt Cities: Skylines 2 and Transport fever 3 are worth looking into, all the other games looked very poor quality that people should not waste money on them
for me … Cp.of industry is a rec from me too all that will like to try and play it and transport fever 3 — i played 2 and its very nice … a lot of free managment … you have the power of the map in your hands and what you dicede to do it will transend in the game in more income or bankrupcy!
TF3 could be a game changer
Town to City is great! So well made
There’s another game that looks similar to Junxions coming out before the end of the year… but less advanced I’d say. Traffic Architect.
Looks like there have been a much wider range of options lately. Nova Roma is a lot of fun and being early access you now it’s gonna get so much better too
Timber born is the best! It’s so much fun
Let me know whether you’re going to try out any of these games or if you’re getting back in to an improved city builder!
