After years of leaks, rumours and speculation, Sony Santa Monica’s next game is finally mere months away, with God of War: Laufey officially launching for PS5 in February of next year. While pre-orders for the upcoming exclusive first went live a couple weeks ago, the team have now confirmed that Laufey will be getting a proper Collector Box – featuring a light-up statue, Oracle cards and more.
Pre-orders for God of War: Laufey officially went live at the end of last month, offering fans two different versions for purchase: a Standard Edition and a Digital Deluxe Edition.
While far less common in today’s age, many expressed disappointment at the fact that Laufey was seemingly not getting a physical collector’s edition of any kind. Fortunately, this has turned out to not be the case, with Sony Santa Monica now unveiling its God of War: Laufey Collector Box.
Available to pre-order right now, the “highly limited” collector’s box will set you back £129.99 and includes the following:
- Light-Up Faye Statue (8 inches, featuring Faye; Phranque; and Rue fighting against Begtse’s soldiers)
- 51-Card Oracle Deck (Featuring custom illustrations for each card)
- Physical Mini Artbook
- The Collector Box itself
As is the case with most collector’s editions nowadays, the actual God of War: Laufey game itself will not be included, being available instead as a separate purchase. That said, given that the base game alone will cost £69.99, it perhaps makes sense that the Collector’s Box does not include the title.
While a matter of subjective opinion, Laufey’s Collector’s Box does at least appear to be more worth it than GTA VI’s equivalent – which will set you back £350 while not including the game either.
KitGuru says: What do you think of this Collector’s Box? Does it make sense to not include the game? Are you a fan of limited edition statues? Let us know down below.
