Rumor: XBOX COO Helen Chiang Leaves After Three Months – Did She Commit ‘Policy Violations’?

It’s hard to know what to believe here.

XBOX has suddenly let go of their COO Helen Chiang – and the rumors surrounding it are getting wild.

XBOX CEO Asha Sharma first promoted Helen to XBOX COO three months ago as part of the XBOX Reset. She was given ‘end-to-end profit-and-loss responsibility across content, hardware, platform, and services’ and answered directly to Asha.

Prior to his, she was head of Mojang for five years, and Asha noted she guided Minecraft to great success as opposed to the rest of XBOX.

As reported by Eurogamer, their source claimed that Helen was ‘terminated for policy violations.’ In response, XBOX said this:

We don’t discuss individual personnel matters. We’re grateful for Helen’s years of service and wish her well.

While fans have been speculating if Helen leaked recent rumors about XBOX, it should be noted she wasn’t known for fostering such connections that would make her a credible source when she ran Mojang.

But this confirms that Asha isn’t sheltering anyone at XBOX, not high ranking executives or even her own hires.
