The battle for the fate of the universe is arriving in Marvel Rivals, as NetEase Games rolls out a brand new mode inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s iconic cosmic showdown.
A new Avengers: Infinity War trailer teases the superheroes’ fierce battle for the six Infinity Stones. The update is part of a new mode added under the Path to Doomsday phase in the game.
This mode will arrive in Marvel Rivals Season 10.5. It is a fast-paced 2v2 PvP mode set on the battlefields of Wakanda. It will feature 12 players split into six teams of two. Each duo will face another superhero duo in round-robin deathmatches. Teams choose from a pool of 13 iconic characters who appeared in the original film. Losing a round drains your team’s health.
The Infinity Stones come as a twist here. Every team will get a stone at the beginning, with each one granting a unique ability. Players who defeat the opposing duo can also claim their Infinity Stone and the power granted at the start.

The new Infinity War battle is only the beginning of what awaits fans
The Infinity War is not the only event in the upcoming season. The developers are also adding a second mode based on Avengers: Endgame on October 22, continuing the game’s focus on major moments from the MCU’s Infinity Saga.
According to the game’s director GuangGuang, it will be a massive 50-player PvE experience that brings players to the ruined Avengers compound to face off against Thanos and his army directly. The director said players will relive moments “from I am inevitable to I am Iron Man.”
The Avengers film-based modes aren’t new to the game. The Path to Doomsday previously added The Avengers event in which six players fought one Loki player. The second phase introduced Age of Ultron, where players formed teams of four and faced Ultron and his forces.
Marvel Rivals Season 10.5 arrives on October 9, and it is playable on modern consoles and PC. Path to Doomsday serves as a live-event series in the game ahead of the film’s launch on December 18, 2026.
