Xbox first launched the ‘Play Anywhere’ programme back in 2017, promising a future where digital Xbox Store purchases can also be played on PC. It has taken quite some time for significant third-party support for this to ramp up, but the number of Play Anywhere titles this year alone has been impressive. Microsoft is about to add another big one to the list – Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 is officially the latest game to get Play Anywhere support. That means anyone who owns the game digitally on Xbox now also owns a PC copy of the game through the Xbox PC app.
If you own Cyberpunk 2077 on PC through the Xbox app, then the reverse is also true, you’ll now have a free digital copy of the Xbox console version too.
The timing for this is pretty great too, as Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 just dropped, and a new patch for the game is set to roll out next week adding new content based on the series. It’s not just an Edgerunners inspired update though, as there will also be another new mystery quest for V, and a new perk to dual-wield pistols.
