Cyberpunk 2077 mod enables 8-player co-op

Initially, CD Projekt Red had planned to include multiplayer functionality with Cyberpunk 2077, but those ideas were ultimately scrapped before launch. Now, modders are taking it upon themselves to bring multiplayer to the game, with a new co-op mod allowing up to eight people to roam Night City together.

NightCoop is a new fan-made mod for Cyberpunk 2077 now in open beta. The mod allows two players to join up to play through the entire campaign with complete synchronisation across all activities.

That means each player will be able to interact with Braindance scenes, and all dialogue is put to a vote. Things like special cybernetic abilities, like the Sandevistan, also appear properly for the other player.

The trailer makes the whole thing look very impressive, even allowing players to go through the initial prologue heist together before the game really opens up with activities.

Right now, the mod has just shy of 100K downloads, directly from the mod’s official website. You can also join the developer’s Discord server for updates and help troubleshooting if you run into issues.
