Learn more about DLSS 5: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/dlss-5-3d-guided-neural-rendering

NVIDIA DLSS 5 introduces 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, which uses AI to infuse game scenes with lifelike lighting and materials. Developers tune the final output for each game to bring their artistic vision to life.

DLSS 5 is supported on all GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, laptops, and GeForce NOW Ultimate streaming from devices on GeForce RTX 5080-powered servers in the cloud.

NVIDIA’s Edward Liu and Gabriele Leone walk you through how DLSS 5 and its developer controls work.

just i dont understand why nvidia doing this for us who have 40 series gpus i spend 8 year to make money and build pc with rtx 4070 and after 1 year comes 50 series and MFG now DLSS5 reflex 2 and i must watch how rtx5060 destroy my gpu with 3x/4x mfg give us MFG native for 40 series gpus

So yall used to say its a "filter" now you are demanding it on the 4000 series? What happened to the hate LOL

Favatar

We need presets that don't just crank up the normal map detail, which has a tendency to make characters look old

Favatar

It’s a promising technology, but who is it actually for right now in its current state? Only RTX 5090 owners. And officially, it works in just one game.

Favatar

im not gonna pay 5k for this stupid stuff, cmon

it does solve issues with ambition occlusion lighting shadows etc which is good. Hopefully it's used well only on things an artist couldn't achieve with their tech. I just hope Devs don't get lazy just make a shit looking game then just turn dlss5 on. It can be used specifically on different objects and turned off the others. I think when you over apply it it gives that oh yh this is ai or oh yh it all looks the same. Plus anyway it halves your frames at moment even with a 5090. So when it's performing well and used properly then he'll yh it'll be great

its funny that this works on AMD RX 9070 XT due to modders but not on 40 series GPUs xD

Favatar

Looks great… the hate is classic group think.

Lmao It’s honestly hella sketchy that NVIDIA said the 50-series was the only hardware capable of DLSS 5, only for people to get it working on 30- and 40-series cards within DAYS of release, and apparently even running on 20-series cards and AMD hardware.

If the technology was genuinely hardware-exclusive, fine. But when the community manages to get it running on generations NVIDIA explicitly said couldn’t support it almost immediately, that raises some pretty obvious questions.

Was it actually impossible on older hardware, or was “50-series exclusive” just a convenient way to sell more 50-series GPUs?

Because those are two VERY different things.

Good thing I got my 5090 before prices quadrupled over gddr7 vram. Like 32gb vram should never cost 4000 dollars. Never.

Favatar

Looks great, thank God they changed it from its initial debut.

i think DLSS5 is a revolutionary technology that needs to be appreciated, i mean, who thought gaming would run like this in realtime. As much as i cant test it on my current 2060, i genuinely appreciate Nvidia devs man. i hope i get a new card to enjoy this.

Favatar

I want to try this on older games.

Favatar

And they think we are changiong rtx 4000 series for that? make it available no more money to spend on gpus

Favatar

ive been waiting 5 years for this tech ever since i saw demos of something like it.

Favatar

bring it to 40 series! We know DLSS 5 and MFG works on 40 series too!!

Favatar

So since Nvidia stole my data from 3 years ago when Ive already created DLSS 5 I'm releasing DLSS 5.5 next year

Favatar

Foolish move to not add it for 4000 cards…

Favatar

i managed to get it running on 3060 ti dude. release it for at least 4000 series

Favatar

Favatar

I hope they stick to neural rendering, and less neural altering.

Favatar

Reflex 2 where????

Favatar

In a future game, is it possible to develop it with minimal graphics and expect the NR (neural render) to translate it once the AI understands what it's seeing? For example, I create a male NPC dressed as a soccer player with PlayStation 1 graphics, but I tell the AI that what it sees is Messi, so every time that NPC appears, I see Messi? And so on with everything; we would just have to develop a vector game with something like QR codes for each item or character, and when the AI sees the character with a specific QR code on it, it would know what to display on the screen!

NVIDIA, you need to shut up and fix the damn issue that caused us a total, FREAKING, NIGHTMARE.

Favatar

You just made me realize I will never purchase the top end of your GPUs.
I always bought the latest, like 1080ti > 2080ti > 4090.
Knowing that I have to replace series every 2 years now to get the latest software means I won't bother with the strongest premium GPU since it won't be supported within two years.
Thats a shot in your own leg.
I will live with 1/3 price tag GPU.

As en engineer I love this, as a Gamer I would rather it being an opt-in experimental feature (until it's optimized, good and consistent) rather than an intended way to play a certain game or a core feature as it's being pushed.

Superman returns and Prototype is what Id love to see with this😅😎

For the records 90% the ppl in the comments are the same ppl who shittalked about this tech since day 1 presentation,
spamming the word 'uncanny' + other babblings. Now everybody is praying them to get it on their cards.
