Kingdom Hearts 4 is of the most hyped games of 2027. With almost 8 years in development, the cancelation of Missing Link, and YEARS in between trailers, the wait for this game has been agonizing. But now, the end is in sight and I thought I would compile everything we know about KH4 into one video, as of October 2026 that is.
From Yozora, Quadratum, Verum Rex, Versus XIII, Master of Masters, Sora’s new look, trailers, gameplay footage, Tetsuya Nomura interviews, and much more, here is Everything We Know About Kingdom Hearts 4 So Far!

Pisses me off how square treated versus 13. Because on one hand, let nomura make his damn game, and on the other hand get the versus 13 stuff out of kingdom hearts. It genuinely feels like the way nomura was originally going to take the series got high jacked by his wants to express versus 13. Which is just sad. I would’ve absolutely loved to play versus 13. Upsets me to this day thinking about what ff 15 could’ve been.

Thank you so much for not revealing the leaks I’m avoiding them until they are confirmed yikes.
Really great video
Not gonna post what was in the leak, but i will say i'm excited to see any trailers they have cooking, this is a pretty neat world line up.
Sora is a victim of aura deflation
I'm pretty sure when we see Riku in quadratum in the secret ending it was only in a dream, he confirm in melmem that he have been dreaming about a city with big building and he also didn't have the realistic look
nomura is gonna get forcefully retired and yet miyamoto will work at nintendo until his literal deathbed
CONFIRMED:
Nomura will trash and erase Kairi in KH4
THE LAND OF FAR FAR AWAY STAR WARS CONFIRMED LEAKED ❤❤
roxas and ventus potentially not being in kh4 (if that's what I understood) is gonna be crazy considering this is a title numbered game, not a spin off, and everyone has been finally rescued and actively searching for sora. I know nomura said in 2022 that the side trios he didn't know if they would be as involved, but this has to be cap. I'm gonna cling to the fact that english voice acting is only 60% complete and that kairi's line from the trailer had to be recorded for the trailer, meaning that alyson still has not recorded their lines and kairi will be in the game. let's see but a numbered title without ven or roxas is gonna be sad
To be fair, even for the new characters, it seems like a lot of them would just have more fleshed out backstories through the mobile games, but as they are new people to Sora too, we'll kinda learn with Sora about them so it won't really matter if Missing Link released or if someone has checked out Dark Road to be fair
I remember reading an interview from Jesse a few years where he talked about KH fans, and he was like, "I hope they make a new one, they never tell us anything" This was after the original KH4 trailer was already out, so yeah he definitely doesn't follow the series much, he finds out about most of these games when they call him in for them.
Bro doesn't know about Union X, he has no idea what's in store for him voicing Ventus
😆
I don't think that the mobile game issue is much of an issue because they can just look at the cutscenes from the mobile games on YouTube for free
I miss Just a Pancake
Hopefully once Kingdom Hearts IV comes out and with Square Enix’s current management following the 2024 company reboot plus their multi-platform approach on their games moving forward, we will be getting new Kingdom Hearts games (side games and numbered titles) and content (KH: The Series) every 2-3 or 3-4 years after KHIV, similar to the FFVII Remake series released a new title every 3-4 years.
this has been a very good year for kingdom hearts we got trailers we got leaks we got a anime show we got everything
The fact that we've waited for Kingdom Hearts IV longer than Doom fans waited for Doom: The Dark Ages is insane
Besides them darn leaks… this is what we OFFICIALLY know fr 😔 side note I wish he’s able to just add Noctis and TWEWY
Jesse said what???
🗝️
Compiling all of this context really emphasizes how high the stakes are for this release. Between KHML's cancellation and the grueling developmental timeline, KHIV isn't just a sequel anymore, it's carrying the absolute weight of a massive structural pivot for the franchise. The transition into Quadratum and the heavy Versus XIII undertones prove that Nomura is moving away from classic formulas to build something far more mature and narratively risky, which makes this entire breakdown feel essential for processing where the lore is headed.
I’m so very excited for this game! I just got the collection for my PS5 last week and I’ll be happily playing through the games again while I await KHIV’s release! To think we were in such a drought, only to be flooded with all this magnificent news?! Good stuff! 😎
Everything we know so far. The initial 2022 trailer. The two new 2026 trailers. And the leaks. There you go. 😂
