Ngl since it is 1v4 I do kinda fear it's gonna be too competitive. I mean ts already looks like it'll be fairly competitive just by the minimal gameplay itself so kinda iffy on getting it. Reason I like stuff like Killer Klowns from Outer Space or Friday was how casual they were yet fun.

Don't know who needs to hear this but a lot of comments don't take in account that
1) Horror is a Niche Genre with a limited Fanbase
2) it is the only Genre to get Snubbed at any Movie/Art Elite Award Ceremony
3) It is the only Gaming Genre to struggle with Active Player Pop because of 1&2
4) The more Multiplayer games that are Current/More active will pull away from Horror Games Active Player Pop
5) Have to compete with the Timesink Money Pit Games like FFXIV/WoW/Runescape which are very much still dominating for their Age.
6) Horror has the most toxic gamers because lets be honest- not every horror fan is a Mr. Rogers/ Ms Rachel Personality- Horror has it's fan base for a reason

Welp, this killed any interest I had in this game. The shape jumping through walls and stuff feels lame – like you have no chance trying to survive logically by using the environment.

For any of you that are skeptical and hesitant about Halloween, let me go over all of IIfonic games of their track record so you have a better understanding. You don't have to read all of this, because this is gonna be very long.
Friday The 13th. That game was a very huge success for IIfonic and gun. IIfonic was a developer and co-publisher, while gun was main publisher. It had thousands upon thousands of players for years after it lunch, they even add part 4 Jason with Jarvis house and Roy burns with Pinehurst, they even planted to add Uber Jason as with the virtual cabin including the space map. In 2018 around September, the lawsuit was filed against the whole franchise preventing any new content to drop, because of this IIfonic left to go create their other project, predator hunting grounds due to their contract being fully completed very early on. Despite IIfonic leaving the game, they didn't wanna leave it hanging with gun. So they made a deal with black tower to help support gun with updates and balance changes which came to be true because of the Jason rage buff. Unfortunately around 2021, the lawsuit was over and gun and black tower fully lost the Friday The 13th rights, leaving the game in a state that would soon get worse over the years. Regardless, players still enjoy the game having around at least 800 players over the years and in 2024, when the game was no longer on sale and soon in 2025, they would lose the servers. Between those 2 years there was 400 to 500 players and eventually after the lawsuit fully calmed down, black tower made a return to update the game a little bit before the servers got hacked and shut down. To this day It's still playable if you already own it and if you went through that discord PSN in account.
Predator hunting grounds. This game was developed by IIfonic and published by Sony themselves. The game was a kickoff, having over 6 MILLION PLAYERS. They release a bunch of new predator classes, skins, customization and even some maps, though they should add more maps. To this day, the game is still being supported but is very slow and small because of the Halloween game they're working on and it has over 600 players to this day and over 30 new predator classes.
Ghostbusters spirits unleashed. That game had over 659 players after its release, along with 7 DLC's that came and 5 new maps. It is developed and published by IIfonic themselves just like the Halloween game and it's also the first ever game where you have to interact with AI People to help save them from ghosts. Over the years of content, around August 2023 is where they started working on the infamous game that caused people to hate IIfonic. Killer clowns.
Killer clowns from outer space. Developed by teravision and published it by IIfonic, this game had peaked in over 4000 players after a release. Unfortunately, unlike their other games, this one didn't get that much updates to begin with. Which make the people believe that IIfonic has abandoned the game. But the story behind the game's development was even deeper. At beginning of the project, there was a complete different publisher named good shepherd entertainment that stops supporting due to functioning issues of the gameplay, leaving the developers no funds to continue the project and was going to shut it down. August 2023 is where IIfonic stepped in to support the developers as main publisher and co-developer. The game was rushed for 2 reasons. 1. it was getting closer to its release date that the original developers promised did. And 2. Mid development of the game. IIfonic got another IP asymmetrical game for Halloween, and thay tried to finish killer clowns, so they can put pull every staff to work on Halloween. Which leaves killer clowns, repetitive gameplay and players count soon started to drop. This is one of IIfonic biggest mistakes that costs their reputation badly. To this day the game is still iin store, but the player count right now is around 15 and that very bad, however developer confirmed that the game will still get ongoing support. So hopefully that they will update this game and drop good content after Halloween.
Halloween the game. Officially going to be released in September 8th this year developed by IIfonic, published by IIfonic and having their partner gun as co-publisher. Guns title on the game's trailer, has already put people on an outrage due to what happened to TCM, the outrage was so bad on the internet that IIfonic staff had to put a tweet about guns involvement with the game and being as co-publisher is not a huge involvement. John Carpenter and Malek Akkad who are in charge of the whole IP holders and they have been involved during the beginning of this game's development with IIfonic. This means that there's no potential lawsuits like what happened with Friday the 13th and the people trying out the demo at east Pax came out with many positive reviews, By the way, thousands of people went to the game demo with 254 of them dressed up as Michael Myers.
So I hope this clears everything up about IIfonic track record and what happened to their games. While some are still playable and supportable,
they unfortunately have very low player count and blaming the devs about what happen. And while IIfonic themselves should do better with these games, they have been full focused on Halloween around 2024 and they only have 127 employees at their Studio, which isn't small, but also isn't big either.
