Check out this new gameplay reveal from Halloween, an asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience developed in Unreal Engine 5 and based on the iconic slasher franchise. This first look with work in progress footage has been shared by IllFonic and edited by us. In this video, the team gives us a closer look at how matches actually play out, from Michael Myers’ slow and relentless stalking to his brutal executions, and the civilians’ desperate attempts to survive, rescue others, and escape Haddonfield. It definitely brings to mind other asymmetric survival horror games like Dead by Daylight and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre!

Halloween is set on the infamous night of 1978, taking players back to the quiet town of Haddonfield where no one is safe from Michael Myers. The game plays out as a 1v4 asymmetrical horror experience, mixing cinematic moments with gameplay systems that keep things constantly changing, from evolving objectives to interactive NPCs and shifting scenarios. You can either step into the role of the unstoppable boogeyman, stalking victims from the shadows, or play as civilians trying to survive the night, rescuing others, working together with authorities, and using whatever you can find to stay alive.

– 1v4 Asymmetrical Multiplayer: One player controls Michael Myers while others play as civilians trying to survive and escape.
– Dynamic Light System: Light can protect survivors, but Michael can cut power, destroy lights, and trigger blackouts to hunt in darkness.
– Survival and Exploration: Search environments for loot, weapons, hiding spots, and key items while navigating a constantly evolving map.
– Randomized Objectives and Escapes: Escape routes and items change every match, forcing players to adapt their strategy.
– Death Isn’t the End: Eliminated players can return as law enforcement like a sheriff’s deputy or Dr. Loomis to help stop Michael.

I am so fucking pumped and I cannot wait to play this! I played for hours and hours on Friday the 13th and this looks awesome with new gameplay features and with John Carpenter himself involved, I highly doubt it'll be delisted…

This honestly looks like a straight-up *Friday the 13th: The Game* clone, just with Michael Myers instead of Jason. The gameplay, objectives, and overall structure feel almost identical. If they can capture the same tension while adding their own unique mechanics, it could still be a lot of fun—but right now it definitely feels like the Michael Myers version of F13.

I wish they had a more exciting single mode. You know with a proper story, good cinematics and lineer but rich chapter design. But after watching this video I can say single mode will just be the same as multiplayer but with npcs. 🙁

It's gonna have the same problem as evolve. Giving him all these abilities no one is gonna be able to ever win this shit looks repetitive asf. And will be in the bargain bin a month after releasing it.
