The first Hollow Knight was developed for 4 years with just 3 passionate developers from Team Cherry, and it came out as a modern masterpiece with universal acclaim still remembered today, 7 years later. Silksong has been teased throughout the years, with the announcement trailer 4 years ago along with 20 minutes of gameplay, and another minute of gameplay around a year ago in the Xbox Game Pass trailer.

What I dont understand is after the immense success of hollow knight, why haven't they taken on more staff to ease the burden? The wait is killing me, but I also know it will be a true masterpiece.

For all the people that are complaining Silksong is not out I think that is childish. The first game was excellent but its not like your whole life revolves around it. If you are a fan thats fine but let the devs take there time. The want the game to be better than everyone's expectations and if you are a team of 3 and want to avoid crunch that takes a LOT of time. Let it go, move on and have a very happy surprise when its finally out.
I hope tomorrow they'll say something in Microsoft's partner showcase

I've felt for a few years like the jump @8:36 doesn't look like it's part of the game
one day… after Elden Ring 2, for sure… but one day…
I'm confident that Silksong will "feel" worse than the first game, but complaining about it is worthless because it'll be almost a different game that WILL be great, probably not masterpiece, but still great (ori and subnautica are pretty good examples, the second games feel worse, but still are great)

All the delays and the complete silence speak of terrible management and development hell. While Blasphemous managed to release two games each game better than the other both with great art and music to boot. That's how you know you got a team with a clear vision and management skills, Team Cherry doesn't seem to be that unfortunately. I honestly lost any care I had before or respect.

There's an upcoming Xbox Partner showcase, so it's plausible we could see something there. Considering the last time we saw anything was in an Xbox showcase. But only time will tell.
I don’t mind waiting for Silksong, but what really annoys me is that Team Cherry sucks at providing any updates. I love their games, but I hate their PR and Marketing.

Breath of the wild got dlc and a sequel, Elden ring released and is now getting dlc, all since Silksong was announced. I’ve got to say, I just don’t think I really care any more. Hollow knight is one of my favourite games ever but these devs need to stop announcing their games so early; it kills the hype and also betrays the possibility of scope creep, making people wary.
I just beat Hollow Knight for the first time last night, so seeing all this about a sequel makes me super hyped. It looks like Silk Song might blow Hollow Knight out of the water.
