With 5 being average, because (IMO) it is still below average.
Meh. 4/10. I am giving zero consideration to the fact that, for the first time in their history, a AAA game studio released a game that almost works. Its trash.

This video is 6:34 in length. If I were doing this video, I would've been tempted to only show a character running or hopping along a single barren planet from point A to point B for the entire duration of the video. That sums up about 90% of my Starfield experience.

"but it will scratch that open world itch", This line proves that whoever wrote the script for this video didn't play the game. There is no open world. There is no open world to explore. You're trying to make fun of Bethesda and it's even worse than the way you portrayed it. It is not exactly like Skyrim. It's so much worse
Don't know how anyone can give that steaming pile of $h!7 a 7/10. Bethesda lost its way years ago.

Ever since the first real footage and reviews came out, I knew this game was a mess. I couldn't buy it anyway, no money, but it made me feel a bit better that I wasn't missing much. Especially two things about it. The, from what I hear, uselessness of the space part of the gameplay, and the terrible performance for the graphics you get.
But, this Honest Game Trailers…I have to say this is the first time in a while it feels like this game might be fun.
So… I recently played Skyrim for the first time… and I really don't like it. It's just bland and boring and the only reason I will actually complete it is the fact that I play it in VR and there aren't many VR dungeon crawlers that aren't an early access mess. I just don't get "the Bethesda RPG" at all. To me it seems like complete mediocrity and quantity over quality. I'd rather a game with 10% of the size of Skyrim, but just more time invested in every part.
There is only one similarity between Starfield and Skyrim. Humans

In Todd's defense, Bethesda is 100% beholden to its shareholders, and they're the ones pushing hard for what is labelled "accessibility" in order to sell more copies of their games. Of course, what "accessibility" actually means is removing mechanics and lots of pandering.
Went back to playing skyrim, the storyline is awful, and the game is way more boring than i can imagine

It is quite an amazing feat, to have only captured one thing about space believably.
And that is the one thing I think we can all agree on that we NEVER want to see in a space rpg(I say that very loosely)…Space-Sickness!
Todd's definition of open world and mine don't mesh. To me an open world space game is one where you can explore eveerything uninterupted. Games like Space Engineers, No Man's Sky, Elite Dangerous, etc, etc. are such games, Starfield simply isn't.

To be fair, there are two-piece swimsuits for female characters (the same item looks like swim shorts on a male). You can't buy them but they can be stolen/looted at Paradiso and Sonny DiFalco's Island.
Starfield did NOT earn a 7/10.
Considering the price maybe 5/10. On a good day.

So mine glitched out and i was firing the ship weapons as the person walking on planets i yeeted my enemies. Only thing i couldnt interact with anything

im glad i didnt buy the game it was free to play on xbox 2 weeks after it came out if id paid for it id be gutted i completed it once built ships set up cargo links then did NG+ 10 then completed it again only this time cargo links don't work and half the ships i built wont load for me to use only thing left to do is explore abandoned mines and visit Sevillian outposts o and my achievements stopped working so I've done missions and got mothing for it and all that while playing on the hardest setting its so bad I've gone back to playing warframe to do some farming

Brilliant. I'm enjoying Starfield and this is also brilliant.
This is actually the perfect review. Hits all the points. No "couldn't be worse if Hitler made it" clickbait. Just a Bethesda game. A solid 7. My main complaint is that the universe is a bit less interesting than typical. It would have been neat to have more personality depending upon the age of the "dungeon" being explored, it's source faction, a few unique exotic weapons in the weapons plants, etc. And yeah. Sexy must have went out of style when the earth lost its atmosphere or something.
