Making these tough challenges a tad bit easier are the enhanced accessories that require a rare resource, Dark Matter, to be crafted.

Since the resource is so precious and will allow players to craft the highest level of gear, Dark Matter is exclusive to achieving the highest ranks in specific minigames. This guide will shed light on all the minigames that net Dark Matter as a reward in FF7 Rebirth and how this resource can be utilized in crafting recipes to obtain powerful accessories.

Where To Get Dark Matter in FF7 Rebirth

Dark Matter is a resource exclusive to eight different FF7 mini-games. It is a rare material with a rarity rank of 8 stars, and the in-game description describes it as radiating a “sinister aura.” It cannot be purchased from any other vendor or farmed from the environment or any other enemy. Its use is to enhance six specific accessories.

Thankfully, the required amount of Dark Matter to enhance all six accessories can be acquired from the minigames once Cloud earns the first-time rewards for the highest rank. One thing to note is that, unlike other minigames, the Dolphin Show minigame is accessed by initiating the side-quest “Tides of War and Worry” from the notice board in Under Junon. This side mission can be replayed multiple times in order to ensure players reach the highest rank and earn the required Dark Matter.

Similarly, to unlock Cactuar Crush, players need to take on Phenomenal Intel (protorelics) during chapter 9 in the Corel Desert region.

The item players will be looking for is the Transmuter Chip: Ultimate Accessories reward obtained by winning the Six-Person Bout: Harmony of Discord in Musclehead Colosseum minigame in Gold Saucer. Once acquired, Cloud will get access to craft six accessories under the Accessory Upgrades tab of the Item Transmuter.
