Loki meets a brutal end in a shocking new Marvel trailer. In the Marvel Rivals Season 10 trailer, the God of Mischief is struck down as Gorr’s campaign against the gods reaches Yggsgard.
Marvel Rivals released the trailer on September 8, ahead of the Season 10 launch. The new season, titled “Butcher’s Blasphemy,” will introduce a major new threat to the game.
The trailer also explains Loki’s recent disappearance from Marvel Rivals. The God of Mischief was marked as ‘Missing’ and disabled in several game modes ahead of Season 10, though he remains playable in Competitive mode. The new footage connects his fate to Gorr the God Butcher, who arrives wielding All-Black the Necrosword.
Marvel Rivals sets the tone for Gorr’s arrival with the line, “All gods must die.” He plans to assemble the God Bomb and destroy all things divine. His crusade eventually brings him to Yggsgard, where Thor and the realm’s defenders must face him.

What happens in the new Marvel Rivals Season 10 trailer?
The trailer follows Gorr as he continues his campaign against the gods. After wielding All-Black the Necrosword against the would-be gods of Thebes, he sets his sights on Yggsgard. His mission is to eliminate the gods and free mortals from their dependence on divine beings.
Loki crosses paths with Gorr during the campaign. The God of Mischief faces the God Butcher, but the encounter quickly turns against him. Gorr strikes Loki down, leaving him seemingly dead. The brutal scene gives an explanation for his recent disappearance from the game.
Thor then takes on Gorr. The God of Thunder fights back after witnessing his brother being struck down, leading to an intense confrontation between the two characters. However, Gorr proves to be a formidable opponent for Thor. The clash sets up the main conflict of the new season as Gorr continues his attack on the gods.
Gorr’s arrival also expands the Yggsgard storyline while introducing a villain who is determined to eradicate the gods. His crusade puts the gods of Yggsgard in danger and leaves Thor to defend the realm.
Gorr will become Marvel Rivals’ newest playable character when Season 10 launches on September 11, 2026.
