Dead game. Should've made a campaign. Arc Raiders will suffer too if they don't have a campaign.

Cant wait to see you guys working in the nearest McDonald's. And hopefully and maybe they will come up woth a Macdonald toy line up 😊

I honestly played this game for the story missions but it was a fatal mistake hiding them behind the threat of real players. They just couldn't resist selling out as an extraction shooter. I don't have time to complete a 30 minute mission just to have some sweat wait by the objective and snipe me 2 seconds before extraction.

Nobody cares about what happens to Midathon. Nobody asked for this game.

First of all, all of them look exhausted, gloomy and without motivation. What isn't weird becasue marathon failed. And all of this looks like bunch of random stuff thrown together to make something PVE like. It's gonna fail… again

So, I have played Marathon. It's really nice, however when Bungi stated going back their roots and somehow PVP is part of that. The first game that they made as a company was a single player fps game and it was the first Marathon game.

If they were planning on going back to their roots. Then it should have been a single player game.

If you put a prompt into chatGPT pretending to be Bungies publicity team, it spits out almost verbatim what Bungie released in their future of the studio post. "We messed up but we heard you & we will give you what we should have at launch" – Bungie 2014 and every year since, literally…

10:25 whoever this guy is, I like him. Y'all need like 50 more of this guy. He's locked in.

All I see are dei hires. The shooter genre is still heavily male dominant. Needs to be made by males. Sorry, not sorry.

Who is the audience for this video? Is this marketing? Is it a devblog for game designers? Is it for the hardcore Marathon fans? What is the one takeaway I'm supposed to get from watching this?

Favatar

Make a campaign. Make an arena PvP mode. Make a PvE only mode.

Favatar

Hell yeah, I have enjoyed it from the start. Seems like modern gamers have grown soft and give up after dieing a few times. All new games are bending the knee to PvE only- arc, tarkov, now marathon. Will still enjoy it and keep playing all modes.

I love marathon its my favorite FPS ever

I can’t get past the awful art style.

Favatar

It should have been called Sprint.

Favatar

I played it a bit and honestly I would have preferred it over Ark Raiders because of first Person and the better gunplay.
Liked the, a bit stolen look too.

But what killed it for me was the readability of the items.
If you are in a situation where you are under pressure, I need easy-to-read loot.
I did not know what to pick up.
After a few games, I still could not figure out what was health or what was shield.
That and that none of my friends wanted to play it killed it for me.

Just make a single player game with a multiplayer mode so that, if people like the campaign enough, they'll want to stick around for the multiplayer.
I mean, that's how Halo got big in the first place.

Favatar

i think they can turn it around, but boy I dont envy that climb

Bungie is trying a new PR strat. thats why you saw them bring back D2 content back after a bad launch of a pr nightmare IP and then kill support for a popular game. I hope its more than just a PR move and more of a change overall. i doubt it but they need to come up with new game modes like gambit. Marathon needs a story mode cus the world isnt easy to read. most people havent played OG Marathon. idk we will see ig.

The game is easy af compared to EFT

Favatar

MaraGONE go woke go broke af

PvP on it's own doesn't sell games. A lot of people don't have the time or skill to keep up with better players/streamers who make a living playing. And that's assuming you don't run into cheaters which plague every game. This game should have been PVE focused from the start.

Favatar

First 30 seconds are factually WRONG! I never played Halo as much as people who grew up on 360 era, but I can assure you, it was WORLD build first, then multiplayer, so comptetitive multiplayer was NEVER the roots of Bungie. Stop fking gaslighting.

Favatar

Its called Marathon because they are jogging to end of service.

Favatar

Damn I'm glad they took a sick single player IP and then made a sweaty PVP extraction game for nobody. What a shocker that nobody liked it. Well at least it didn't cost a lot of money to make…

Favatar

Pro-nouns detected and LOTS of purple. However, it seems they've been humbled.

Great game. Wrong genre.

Favatar

If I wanted to play a game where I looked like the gimp in PUlp Fiction, I'd boot up The Sims.

Favatar

I'll try it. I mean, I already own it so what have i got to lose?

Favatar

More like Game Over.

Favatar

This Video could have been 2 minutes long, don't waste my time.

Favatar

It's not niche other extraction shooter came before this does better job at what they do, this game is imbalanced af and they are delusional

Favatar

I was excited for the game until I played it. Dont think they can do anything to make it appealing now.

Favatar

It's actually a great game that a lot of people hate on because of how higher-ups completely mishandled the Destiny 2 situation. I understand being frustrated with that, but don't let yourself be blinded by that frustration. Marathon is actually a really dope game, if you're into that kind of experience.

Favatar

Favatar

man, i just dont like the visual design of anything in this game. The characters especially look really bad to me.

Favatar

I’m sorry. I wanna see Bungie succeed. But this is just a waste of time and resources. This will not change the fate that Marathon has coming. 🪦

Favatar

I wasn’t aware it was an extraction shooter when I bought it tbh. I thought it was more like destiny. If it does become that way I’ll go back to it, but as it is I don’t enjoy it.
