Marvel & KPop Demon Hunters MTG Cards Fail To Sell Out During Secret Lair Drop

Magic: The Gathering’s Secret Lair drops have been relentless in the second half of 2026, with tons of new collaborations and even a few Commander decks, but not everything is a sell-out hit; the most recent Marvel and KPop Demon Hunters bundles have surprisingly gone unsold across all regions.

While it’s impossible to find an exact reason why these two Secret Lair bundles didn’t sell out despite early community feedback suggesting they would be quite popular, we can look at a few scenarios that led to this stock sitting on the website when (almost) all the other bundles were gone within hours or minutes.

KPop Demon Hunters Fails To Find Its Audience Within Magic, For Now

Netflix

There’s no denying that KPop Demon Hunters is a huge property, and while the massive hype has somewhat cooled in the year since its release, the franchise as a whole is still doing everything it can to stay at the forefront of relevancy. Whether it’s clothing, collectibles, or toys, fans of the movie are still eating up anything they can get their hands on.

When the Corn Maze superdrop was first teased and confirmed to have a KPop Demon Hunters element included, all signs pointed toward it being just as popular as the Labyrinth offering. However, in reality, it’s struggled to sell out in all regions.

At the time of writing, both the foil and nonfoil bundles are still available on the UK and EU Secret Lair sites, while the nonfoil bundle is available in North America.

This isn’t a great look for the partnership, given that Magic: The Gathering also felt the need to hype up additional KPop Demon Hunters products on social media before the Corn Maze superdrop even went on sale.

Granted, one criticism of the current Secret Lair is that it doesn’t include enough cards featuring the main characters from the movie. This post was likely to make sure that fans knew that further products would be coming, so they could purchase the current bundle and know that more cards are on the way. It appears to have had the opposite effect, as players wait for future bundles that feature cards they wanted to see from the start.

Marvel Fatigue Continues Despite Darkhold Destiny Positivity

As for the Marvel Zombies bundle, much like with the recent Marvel-centric superdrop, it has failed to sell out in any region, with the foil and nonfoil versions available at the time of writing.

Marvel fatigue is a term used by the community frequently to address the huge influx of Marvel products in Magic: The Gathering that started with the release of the Spider-Man set in late 2025. Since that set launched, we’ve had another whole set in Marvel Super Heroes, which came with four Commander precons, at least four Secret Lair bundles, and there is a Doctor Doom superdrop incoming, alongside a rumored Spider-Man Commander deck, all before the end of 2026.

The reveal of Darkhold Destiny, a Marvel Universes Beyond set for Q2 2027, has gone some way to reinvigorating fans’ interest in the crossover deal, but for now, fans seem to be growing tired of what is being offered on the Marvel front, and this is further reflected in the stock levels of the Zombies Secret Lair bundle and the ongoing availability of bundles from the Marvel superdrop last month.
