No Man’s Sky Forsaken update adds seamless warping between star systems

Despite spending the past 10 years consistently releasing massive free updates for No Man’s Sky, the team at Hello Games appear to have no plans on slowing down any time soon. Less than two months on from their last major release – Cosmos – Sean Murray and co. have now unveiled the ‘Forsaken’ update; making No Man’s Sky’s space warping even more seamless.

As they have done for all past updates, No Man’s Sky Forsaken was announced and released simultaneously. Likewise, as has been the case with pretty much all of said updates, the full suite of additions is lengthy and comprehensive.

While the complete list of changes and additions can be found HERE, some of the most notable include:

  • New Forsaken traders who sell “a unique range of corvette modules”
  • Minimal HUD mode
  • New, horror-focused discoveries
  • Multiple new Corvette module styles for added ship customisation (interior and exterior)
  • New deep-space delivery missions
  • New multi-tool styles
  • Weapon select wheel for added ease-of-use
  • Off-planet bases can now be shared
  • Holo-Arena battles can now be played in deep-space outposts
  • Official iOS support

Amongst these many additions, by far the most notable improvement with this update is in how it handles travelling between different star systems. While No Man’s Sky has always been a seamless experience pretty much across the board, the one exception came with moving between solar systems – where-in players would have to open up a menu in order to select a new destination.

While this functionality remains as an option, players will now be able to see neighbouring systems in the distance (appearing as bright, targetable destinations in deep space) which they can then manually target and travel to with their ship for complete uninterrupted immersion.

Every time it seems as though No Man’s Sky has entered its final, perfected form, the team at Hello Games manage to find yet another way to improve and add to the experience. Even so, the Forsaken update looks to be a rather substantial leap forward technologically.
