It was back in 2019 that Microsoft and Ninja Theory first unveiled Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, and now, close to five years on from that announcement, the long-awaited action-adventure sequel is finally approaching its release date.
The sequel to a beloved game and Ninja Theory’s first tentpole release as an Xbox first-party, Hellblade 2 has quite a bit riding on it, and expectations have been high – and getting higher still – in the lead-up to its release. With the clock ticking down, Ninja Theory and Microsoft have begun pulling back the curtain and sharing new details on the game, and how it’s set to build on its predecessor’s foundations. There was nothing wrong with the combat in the first. I loved fighting different people at one time!
Just waiting to see how this one fares, given how hostile the Xbox fanbase was to the original (until it finally came to their platform) and how often they like to insult the competition by claiming Sony’s games are all “cinematic, one and done, 8-10 hour walking simulators,” given that seems to be precisely what Hellblade 2 is shaping up to be (and what Hellblade 1 was, as well.)

I will wait when it goes on sale. I haven't subscribed for Xbox for a long time as it hardly has interesting exclusives. I thought starfield would turn them around. Glad I have all the platforms so I don't really miss anything. Console wars are dumb it's about the games.

I've never had a "Before You Buy" episode so thoroughly convince me not to buy.
I expect absolute simplicity and minimalistic gameplay/interaction. "Games" like these tend to be one big expensive "ad campaign" for the Unreal Eng. 5 thing. Like the Callisto Protocol, it's just gonna be BASIC a.f. and likewise SUPER short, in short NOT worth the PRICE for what's basically a "walking demo!"😒
