Star Trek: Outposts Unknown is an upcoming narrative-driven outpost-builder. This five-minute gameplay trailer unveils the planet of Kourou, one of many you’ll encounter. The developers describe Kourou as such: “Kourou is a chaotic planet of ice and fire. Abandoned by the X’Lehari after escalating complications with the Tetryon Rift, Kourou is home to abandoned structures and shady figures looking to operate where they likely won’t be found.” Wishlist it on Steam if you’re interested: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3469910/Star_Trek_Outposts_Unknown/

Sad thing is, it still looks more like a mobile game to me and has an art style of game which is 10 years old or more. Except for the officers, ships and a Starfleet Delta here and there, the buildings also mostly dont really look like Star Trek inspired building to me, but rather like generic scifi buildings. As much as i would love a Star Trek inspired City (Colony) Builder, this is just not it.
This seems interesting, compared to the other Star Trek game…..
Now fully fledged RPG required.
Hopefully, someday they will have it on the PlayStation market.
Other than the Star Trek branding, what makes this game fundamentally different than any other colony builder? What core mechanic is new, fresh and interesting? Maybe it is here somewhere in the couple trailers I have seen, but I haven't spotted it yet.
The Sims had a game like that . Really hard to play .
I dislike the architecture style. It is a bit basic.
Idk… is the demo free?
Anyone who played the demo knows this video is worthless.
The game has serious control and design problems with key portions of the tech tree and mechanics straight up not working.
The game is extremely obviously a cell phone "game" with clunky nonsensical controls, terrible bugged unit pathing and actions, as well as other glaring issues with construction progression, etc.
The demo made me VERY wary about the game instead of excited for it.
Exactly my kind of jam. Feels like Surviving Mars on steroids, with a really slick Star Trek paintjob.
How do you defend against Klingon Raids or The Borg?
Will there be any hostile flora and fauna on planets that we have to deal with?
Ok, on the art style, I really dig it, cause i see what they are going for. This is like the step between the TOS style and the Ent-Era style, and it looks rather striking and unique.
This has me very hopeful.
🖖🏻🖖🏻
I love the look of this game. Very slick
The art direction is so lackluster.
It's like its trying to copy bits from every era of Trek design and nothing at once.
The UI alone is already a tragedy. Looks more like mobile game UI.
I'm not sure if what final direction the finished game is going to go in, but right now this looks like a 3/10.
3:22 The first people to land on a dangerous unkown world are all senior bridge officers? Classic Star Trek! 😂
Any ETA for the game's release?
I hate the art style. Looks like fortnite
The blue bubbles…are they toggleable? I do hope so, because I find the way they clip together unappealing.
Star Trek: Colonization, I hope this doesn't break the Prime Directive
Amazing idea. please fix the walk animation stride to match the character's speed. they're moonwalking all over the place. ty.
When Temu makes a Star Trek game.
I really like this! The new starship looks gorgeous, and putting this in the TOS era works more than just the nostalgia bit, as they didn’t have replicators back then, so resource management becomes an integral part of it. Also, you’re exploring the local solar system of the colony so it keeps in the exploration of Star Trek.
Interesting but maybe a lack of adventures in space… I would want to see more vessels in space.
Can't wait for this to be delisted a year after it's released.
where's the Star Trek part?
Why tf ST games nowadays look always comicy/childish…
exciting XD
Hopefully they will still have the license and be supporting this long enough for 24th century DLC.
Is this properly TOS/Lost Era? Or some SNW/Disco shit?
"Wishlist on steam if youre interested" found the soft sale so refreshing. So used to the hard sell
This reminds me of an old game from the early 2000s called space colony which was a blast to play. Great to see similar gameplay but set in the Star Trek universe.
Freaking love it!!!
I know it's just a colony-sim game, but it captures that hopeful spirit of Star Trek. Inspirational, can't wait to play!
