I didn’t play much because there was no casual game modes. At least the one time I played I didn’t notice any, maybe I missed it but I wanted a mode like call of duty where you go around just shooting and dying over and over. I hate playing games where you have 1 life & games where you have to wait for a bit to respawn. Especially since I’m not the best and a lot of casual gamers probably have the same experience.
Call of duty slowly dies every year as they stop support for the current game once the new version comes out. Look at dmz it was by far the best mode in cod I ever played and now it’s not supported, yeah it’s probably still got loads playing but no new maps or missions makes the game pointless
The game is fun but to me lacks content as its a still new. Need more than simoly playing the same minigame over and over

The finals is barebones, the core game mode sucks for casual players or anyone who just wants to have a good time, the engine for the game is great…but that’s it, the finals just isn’t a good game, this game is meant to sit in arcades. Edit : I have around 250 hours in the finals, not the most but I can say after watching all my friends drop the game and even dropping it myself, if they don’t rework this entire game and find a new core game mode, the game will die.

Only thing I have hope for is Xdefiant although all these delays its a bit concerning but we’ll see what happens to that game as for the FINALES I had a feeling It was going to die in a couple of months. i mean, is it really dead? Just a day ago, i was hearing friends saying aye after exams lets download finals and run some games…People these days are forgetting that the purpose of playing games is to have fun and its not to only play addictive trendy games. COD, valorant, siege are all addictive games due to its award system etc… While the finals are kind of just "take this, and play". You know whats funny, game journalists come and say "OH WELL GHOST OF TUSHIMA IS DYING", mf that game is singeplayer where u finish it and thats it lol. The finals is fun to play from time to time and not 100hrs straight per day(math doesnt math). Ask every valorant and siiege player, they hate the game bec they are playing it non stop and got tired of it but yet they play lol? U play it alot that u end up hating it…buddy wait a year, finals playercount will skyrocket again

to be honest cheating problem became a problem because of the low player count. lower player count = high chance of meeting a cheater
Because it has an actual skill gap and TTK, hence scrubs won’t take the time to learn.
IMO, it was the nerfs. In a bid to make everything balanced they nerfed everything into the ground. Which took the fun and variety out of the game. They pulled back on it a good bit, but it's not the same. The biggest feature of the game got nerfed into the ground. You used to be able to level entire buildings with the H nade launcher. Now you've got breach charges (That the M doesn't get) and take 27 years to activate. So they are only good for setting traps and blowing holes in walls at the start of a fight. And the H RPG, which is p much like the breach charge, cause of it's long cool down. But has the added bonus of taking out one opp in one hit, as long as they aren't a H.
Also need some more body styles and cosmetics, while you're at it. K thx.
This game Dued fast, loved the Gun Play and items you can use. But Not only My problem but many peoples problem was SBMM, not enough players to fight against nor a TDM mode.

I love The Finals but the lack of marketing, bizzare balancing, the same boring meta and rampant cheating across Asia is really killing the game. I Really want this game to succeed
One problem is lack on custom plays with lesser players. I can't play with my friends we are like 4 but can't play together. The only mode we can play is power shift which gets boring after a while. Secondly the weapons are limited and we cant change to other guns
It's not a dying game – it has a healthy dedicated niche playerbase of around 20k on average who are not going anywhere (and will most likely expand as more is added throughout the seasons). The issue is that game requires intelligence, teamwork, patience, strategical thinking and creativity to have any success with it – all attributes that the average casual gamer, or kid, struggles with in a gaming scenario. I saw an Apex streamer 'try' The Finals and he was complaining about having to wait around and defend a cashout – his exact words were 'I don't want to, I want to get kills'. The bloodthirsty COD mentality – if you play smart in The Finals, you can avoid a lot of fights and confrontation (which is clearly not appealing to those who want a wild west death mode experience). It's a game where solely focusing on kills (rather than the objective) will often result in you losing the match – a tough concept to grasp for a FPS casual.
I’ve been playing the finals more than I ever have been before, I daydream about it when I’m working and I can’t wait to hop on after work. I’m really unsure Why people want to claim at this game is dead. The same gossip was said about Apex legends and look at it. How many seasons do they have?

The game is too complicated and hard for casual play and way too chaotic to be competitivly enjoyable. Almost feels like a br in the bad way

I spent 100$+ on cosmetic’s because I wanted to support the devs for their work and I loved the concept of customizing my character so it was worth it but what made me quit was them constantly changing the game to the point it was no longer fun

People like you with your clickbait titles proclaiming the game is dying all over the internet is probably the biggest factor in new players not even bothering to try playing.
If all creators spent as much time hyping the game as they spend calling it dead, it would probably have a substantially larger player base. Why would new people play when all they see is videos like this saying its dying. Get a grip man, hope its worth 1.2k views to shit on a great game.
I absolutely love The Finals. I've discovered it like a week ago, I'm mostly a COD "sweaty" player and th last games were just not for me, so I tried a lot of different FPS but gave up. But I'm now at 50h played on TF and it's the best FPS I've played in a long time by far. The game's quality is HUGE and I've missed that a lot. Yes it's a weird game mode, but honestly it's not that hard to get a grasp on if you played FPS arcade before and the replayability is insane. I think it could still improve on some areas but it's won my heart
I'd say the game would be in a healthy state if the player number doubles. Which is not that big of an ask to be fair.
I wouldn't say it is rapidly losing players, but admitedly it is bleeding them out. The cheater problem needs to be fixed one way or another, very pervasive and damaging.
I'd say powershift is nice but the APS and grenade spam is obnoxious.
They need to fix the ranked, since elo number cannot be accessed by players.
I want this game to succeed ngl, I was a beta player and since I first watched footage of the game, I've wanted to play it. It's currently my main fps, filling the gap left by the battlefield franchise after the 2042 fiasco, and I hope they can release a banger S3 with some very needed changes and a big marketing push.

Before i watch, the answer is because it was poorly executed. More specifically, it had awful performance and was wholly unbalanced. A completely unrewarding gameplay loop didnt help either.
The main proplem imo is that they can't get enough content fast enough bc they have like 100 employees.
I mean that the seasons are too long. Fortnite adds new weapons and POIs mid season and that is why ppl stay.
I LOVED the finals from the start but bc it couldn't get new content my friends got bored and solo isn't as fun. But after I told them about the new season we have been playing every day.

The game has gotten slower and less explodey over time. They are increasing the skin releases. They keep buffing and adding hitscan.
Medium is overloaded as hell. It's clear they're trying to make a cod-adjacent game and just wanted to trick people into thinking it was something completely different.
the new game modes end up just being a camping fest. trying to use melee feels awful. people camping high ground with hitscan weapons. cheaters in literally every lobby.

i mainly quit the game because every lobby i join into has a cheater and i just got tired of it and the game doesnt have much for me to play anyway i think there should be more content
Everything is dying… it is just a matter of when it is dead. I've been waiting for Apex to die for the longest and for Titanfall 3 to pick up the pieces of that crap BR. I like The Finals and the devs are doing a great job… I don't see the game dying. The people that don't like it are bad.
