The generic 2.5d art style doesn't even have 10% of the soul of the old pixel based 2D Castlevania games.
Anybody remember Castlevania: MOF? I know a lot of old school fans didn't think it was a Castlevania game with its different combat mechanics, lore and presentation, but somewhat I noticed while watching the game play of Belmont's curse, it's almost as if it played the same including its presentation and lack of any traditional Castlevanian music!
I didn't like dead cells so I'm probably going to hate this
Questa grafica cartoon non mi piace molto.
I don't know why everybody say is a sequel to Dracula's curse, like curse of darkness doesn't exist
Bloodstained The Scarlet Engagement will be better than this
I’d rather play the Bloodstained games
I'll still miss the full RPG systems that started becoming the standard after Symphony Of The Night, where you had a loooooot of gear and weapon variety. But I guess I can't complain since at least we are getting a new Castlevania game in 2026. Hope they find success in this release and get to work on a future Castlevania game that leans back into the RPG elements rather than lock itself into narrower systems like this.
i love Daem, but dude that shirt is beyond try-hard, game scoop still and will always be the only video game pod!
Save point and pushing out to see how far you can get…now where have I seen that before. Oh yeah, Dark Souls. Holy crap! We've been playing the 3D version of Castlevania all this time. Get on it Konami
Grabbed it for steam and switch. Looking forward to it.
Gameplay looks good but the aesthetic looks like the inside of my toilet bowl after an all-night bender.
Damn this is hard to believe
trying hard to be Castlevania 😂 this is for the sake of franchise only, the goth atmosphere here is different, this looks generic fr. what's with that colorful stage design? deadcell generic team of course 😂 bloodstained scarlet is much better. looks life from temu
Sequel to Draculas Curse or Curse of Darkness?
Too bad it's only 30 FPS on the switch version. I would have bought it on there but no I'm not going to bother unless there is a free day one patch for 60fps
Day one buy
It's a bit disappointing. If it had a darker atmosphere, it would've felt more like a Castlevania game, but it went way too cartoonish. 🥲
I’ve been waiting for a for years – luckily – bloodstained has been a good tie over until now
You can see clearly it´s from the developers of Dead Cells. Sadly doesn´t feel like Castlevania. I will test it to form my own opinion.
YO! Dat Godzilla x Dodgers button up is low key fresh
I am more excited for bloodstained on a Castlevania way, but as a dead cells fan I AM happy.
So sick of the Metroivania references. You can't call this a Metroidvania because it's THE CASTLEVANIA
Gonna be honest, I do not like the art-style
shame it looks like a gawdy rogue like
personally i didnt really like the ingame artstyle, somehow it feels n looks not suited for a gothic fantasy horror theme to me…
WHO IS SIGH-FUH?!?!
So, when's the next 2D Castlevania after Belmont's Curse? I see Capcom got us a Megaman Dual Override. We need more traditional 2D games. Smaller budgets then Always-Online, MMO, loot box, etc modern gaming.
Saying I love games where I have no idea where to go or what to do. Is how the game industry almost died
There might not be a Switch 2 version due to lack of dev kit when development started maybe?
How do games like this still exist in 2026. This isn't the 90s 😂😂.
Can´t believe you used the title ´whip it good´ with a picture of camilla
Drac is BACK?! Mah GAWD!
Siffa? Really? Apparently he did not see the animated series.
If this game is anything like Prince of Persia with the combat and length, then I'm purchasing day One.
Wall meat is back.
" SHE" NOT HE
Where is the Switch 2 version
I just can’t believe that Castlevania is back. I don’t even have the words
they butchered the art with this one. too many artificial reds in the environment mixed in with generic cell shaded art
My metroidvania days are behind me but this does look very good.
Its a pork chop. Not turkey
I'm so glad I have this on my Steam Wishlist I will be buying this when I can. Hyped for this game.
"faster and more agile than you've ever been" …I could care less about the mobility similar to dead cells, does it lend to the gameplay in any signficant way? The 2d style of the older castlevania games feature a confined corridor and map that actually lends to a slower, methodical, the speaker might say clunky, style of mobility and gameplay- and for me that unison is perfect. I really dont get these journalists so obsessed with the flashy. I also am not really digging the kind of still-jpeg with slight animation(2:07) in the hair or clothing….just seems cheap and rigid….
So we getting a Switch 2 version or what?
I CANT WAIT!
Glad i pre-ordered this for Series X. I'd still love to see a remaster/remake of Castlevania Lament of Innocence & Curse of Darkness tho 👉
Ugly graphics .. that’s Not Castlevania Style
