A few things:
5th: 8 is most defo not holding dualies, that is a charger of some variety. They are holding the object in their right hand by the top, which isnt usually where you hold a weapon like the dualies
6th: The "inkling in the elavator" is probably meant as a stand in for Acht.
I’m na Cartoons expert though plz take grain of salt. I feel like Side Order’s story was gonna be longer. I think it was gonna be eerie and give each character a spotlight.
I had the same thoughts as I was playing through it, like the first trailer ended up being so disconected from the final game, and I just felt the pottential we lost was huge, the trailers had such a serious vibe and creepy subtones and we lost allmost all of it wich in my eyes is extremely dissapointing, not that the game itself is bad, I really enjoyed it, but what we couldve had I think wouldve been so much better
One thing I will say is that 8 is depicted in many different skin tones and hair styles in different art; because as a player technically all combinations are canon appearances for them. In the color chip encyclopedia, the screenshots used for eight include a full range of skin tones and hairstyles. While there are some versions of eight that are used more frequently to be identifiable, saying eight is 'too dark' is a bit unfounded.

Even tho a lot of the stuff in the first side order trailer seemed to be place holders I’m still glad it came out the way it did. As a fan of horror and creepy stuff it’s fun to see Nintendo not shy away from odd or off putting imagery. Plus it was so confusing it got everyone so hype and I love me some collective hype lol
The 14th photo is just a picture of a Marching Andante. You see them a million times in Side Order so I dont get what's so confusing

I think side order is cute and fun, but I totally get what you mean! I was kinda expecting it to be way more horrifying 😭 I was excited for a scarier splatoon story!!
Side orders story really sucked. They seemed to focus more on gameplay than on story. Like you could remove Acht and Nothing would change. Missed potential.
the first trailer had something so ominous and mysterious which kinda got less and less with the next trailers

My theory of the images in the trailer being tied to the actual side order experience is that possibly the images shown in the trailer were actually agent 8s memories being relieved by the memverse, which essentially means that (I think) the trailer was showing agent 8 testing the memverse for the first time as per marinas request, I don't have much to back up this theory though
