I'm sold. I got a kid on the way and I'm looking for more solid survival games to add to my library for when I have some time to unwind after work. Biding my time until Dandelion Void releases.
If it is PVE and is not a shooter is just a LATAM simulator.
Why UI is 1:1 copy of New World? 😅
Fun and novel, but shallow at the same time.
That's a shame, I hate survival games but I love pirate games.
Sea of Thieves isn't even a GAME!!! Its a pay to play which takes no skill!!!
Are there bosses and boss fight?
Smelting iron has been known for thousands of years. Even in the Middle Ages, blacksmiths just used sand (silica) as flux to remove impurities. In Windrose, you can't craft flux at all, and you're forced to buy it from a specific vendor that you only unlock after completing a long quest chain. This feels like an artificial barrier just to pad playtime. It's a shame, because the foundation is solid, but these kinds of unrealistic limitations ruin my experience.
skull and bones wishes it was 10% of this
It’s not reasonable to assume they will fix anything. What you see is what you get. They will add a little context, fix a couple bugs and that’s what you’ll get.
Great Review !
But is Windrose focused on multi-player like Valheim or is it good as a Solo?
Their development Road Map would be very illuminating….
thanks lague polish
Out of reach !!
mixed with sea of thieves and rust lol
Out of reach best pirate realism game didn't feel like a rpg
I have enough hours in this game to say, yeah good review. Fair.
Pirate flavored Valheim is fair.
if you are tiered of sea of thieves' hrable recent development it is perfect
they copied Soul Mask a lot in base building as well as the campfire being the center of the build
kinda looks like those mobile ads lol
Game looks shit.
The goats are well. GOATED.
Can you build with more than just wood? Like is there any other material you can utilize like rock, stone, metals?
Better than I thought it would be. The building is very good. A lot of detail in it even though it looks sort of cartoony. Luckily there are things which make it a bit easier when it comes to survival games. Tools don't break and you get full refunds etc.. I've built a gigantic mansion at this point that I wish I could actually live in. Almost at the end of the last current biome. IDK if I'd really play it if I didn't want to build stuff or wasn't doing coop with friends though.
Ok but how much water is there? I love pirate games but my main fear is that there will be too much water when I buy videogames.
From what I can tell, this is what skull and bones had promised to be
Is this the second coming of Sid Meier’s pirates?
Pocketpair is also a publisher for this game this studio is going to overtake Ubisoft soon
if you want a sailing, trading and building ships, world of seabattles is good for sea battles and trading
For the few survival games ive played, they felt kind of stale after a good period of play time. This one seems like theres a little bit extra to kind of stave off the staleness. Which is kind of refreshing, and well pirates help
As a big fan of the actual Blackbeard, im a little sad they made him the "baddie".
im not convince migh pirate it
ah, being co-op, not much info on that. How many in party, one or more camps, ships, full shared loot boxes. If one player completes a mission, do all in party and in game get credit? Or just leader, and players have to trade off lead to clear things? Player lvl up/down difficulty sizing?
Ehh. Why even bother make this game. Might as well just play black flag.
Looks like a solid start. The road-map they released seems to be focusing on more content and exploration rather than more in depth systems. Maybe they'll deepen the ship to ship stuff at some point. Does seem like that could shake the "valheim but pirates" label.
11:09 your crews not invincible if your boarding gear isnt leveled they will fall ive seen it
OK… this is actually a very fair accurate "review" if this early access… this game rocks… but yes it has lots of room for very sweet improvement… as far as early access, I don't remember a fuller feeling early access
if only it was not a survival game damnit
This game as it stands would get probably 30 hours out of me until I got bored but the framework has so much potential
too cartooney, i want realistic unreal 5 ^^
Thus far, how is feedback from devs?
How does this compare to say Conan Exiles? Looks like having a "crew" would be nice but giving at least one side kick / first mate to help with on land combat seems fair ? Want to try it just not sold yet at 30 bucks .
This game has a lot form Atlas
Honestly its one of the my most favorite survival games i played ever
imagine its every other survival games with mods pre-installed
they did every aspect that modders usually do with survival games
you can use any materials straight away from storage boxes without having to take it out as long as its in your camp range
you don't feel there is a lot of resources that are crazy rare in which you spend hours just looking for one or two which drives me crazy and feels like waste of time in other survival games
its like valhiem on steroids , you can build fast travel points which is really stupid in valhiem since you cant transfer ores unless using a boat which waste a lot of gameplay time into boring cruise in the sea
building is not overcomplicated like valhiem
it feels like they remade another game like valhiem but have huge QOL improvement
Love the game, but it keeps locking up my PC completely when fast traveling to or from Tortuga…… I've done all the suggestions. Will come back after it bakes some more.
7:30 "Don't have to dig through storage to find one resource you need for crafting" … exactly! that annoys me in other games. I cannot believe that Terraria doesn't have this feature. Not even a plugin/mod to allow that.
Do you ever go back after a game "officially* releases to see what has or has not changed to update your thinking of a game?
Looks like the same crap all Unreal Engine games have, with the same UI and combat/building mechanics. no soul
Art Style is similar to New World and that's not a bad thing
