There's still time to dump this obvious mistake and just give alliance high elves and horde goblins, it would take 0 time to implement and wouldn't recreate one of the dumbest mistakes in Wow history with cross faction races.

These elf guys are the equivalent of someone taking a septic diarrhea dump into the brownie mix. Impossible to ignore, ruins the taste and flavor, and completely out of place.

Saying the Smurf Elves have a "deep lore" is like a beer that's all foam. The so-called "lore" has been pulled out of Blizzard's metaphorical butt. Are there not numerous races with actual established lore and player recognition that they could have used? Does this re-setting of the rules – and deliberate break from Retail and normal Classic – not give Blizzard some pretty significant ability to come up with a truly interesting alternative?
