I liked the rough-cast look of the Necrons, it seems more authentic than the shiny, sharp-edged look.

It feels like theyve really struck the perfect balance in their choice of factions, lots of variety in playstyle but also very different in their philosophies and imperatives….I think this bodes really well for an interesting and varied campaign.

I'd like to see them stay slightly left field for their DLC choices aswell, yes we all want to see the safe-hands of The Imperial Guard, Nids and Chaos factions down the line. . . .but I think they would do well to introduce something much less expected like the Genestealer Cult. GSC are unbelievably rich and varied in both their army list, how they fight and what drives them. . . plus they look amazing and have rock grinders, dirtbikes and quads…they would be incredible in the game. I think there is a danger in being too predictable and playing it too safe, it could be easy for people to feel like its just more of the same, a few curve balls would spice things up a bit. .. of course, they could bring all of them to the game eventually, that would be the dream for most of us.

The Necrons were promised Kronus…… 30 million years ago…

But his speech is all wrong per the lore. They went to sleep waiting for the universe to repopulate to feed. Otherwise, who were they planning to rule over? SMH

Something i find funny in the WH40k lore is Necrons are so overpower they usually spend more time figthing themself than other factions

Don't get me wrong, in other storys of other factions the necrons are your "Villian of the week" they usually win agains't the necrons, but usually that's becouse they overpower the current awaken necrons of that planet and don't give chance for the whole tomb to wake up

They also are reaaally scare of the hunger virus, that's why so far i apreciate not a single one of the flesh ones are not near other necron units unlike the first Dawn of War, they are like zombies for them, and they get contain and erradicate usually

I'm wondering if the Necrons are going to start throwing their weight at the forces of Chaos for messing with their stuff.

I feel there is few misconceptions here. If my Necron lore is up to snuff, what Thothmek is describing is a more general state of the galaxy rather than this specific planet. Except for the few crownworlds of different dynasties, most of the tomb worlds are in various states of malfunction. From Necron warriors becoming nothing but pure automata to the Master Control Program (akin to the caretaker of a sleeping Tomb World) going rogue, Necron's Great Sleep didn't go all too well.

In fact, it makes much more sense for Necrons from outside of Kronus to come to reclaim the world since /*little spoiler for those who didn't play Dark Crusade*/ Tomb World here is under the control of a C'tan shard of Nightbringer, which was the way the Necrons have been before GW created Necron Dynasties. But even after the retcon, they kept this possibility to explain some of the older lore and books that they didn't outright scrap.

Which makes for a really compelling story plot. Necrons on their reclamation conquest wrestle over the planet with other factions, only for them to find Tombs filled with slaves of out-of-control God who is hellbent on harvesting every living thing on the planet and enslaving Necrons once more as Big Bad of the story. Could even be used as a plot device to get all factions to work together, even though at this point the "allies of convenience" trope is kinda overused in this series.

But unfortunately, lately GW really tends to let developers put in only the blandest of stories, keeping them as close to mainstream lore as possible. So I don't keep my hopes up that this game will be any different.

Younger races? I guess so but the Orks are almost as old. They were created to fight the Necrons 60+ millions of years ago.
